Why energy careers matter
The My Energy Future Champions programme brings together students, apprentices and early-career professionals from across the global energy sector.
Champions share what working in energy is really like today, helping young people better understand the opportunities available and the different pathways into the industry.
They represent a wide range of sectors including oil and gas, renewables, hydrogen, digital technology and emerging energy industries. By sharing real experiences, they help show how different roles connect across the wider energy mix and how careers can develop over time.
The programme focuses on honest, relatable stories that make energy careers feel more accessible and easier to understand.
Champions create content and share insights about their studies, work and career journeys through the My Energy Future website and social media channels.
This can include:
- Talking about their role or studies
- Sharing day-to-day experiences
