Instrument Technician

As an Instrument Technician in the energy industry, you’ll maintain and repair a wide range of electronic and mechanical equipment and systems. You’ll be testing, fault-finding, replacing and installing equipment and systems to regulate the flow, level, pressure and temperature of the raw materials being processed, as well as interpreting and updating technical drawings based on your work. 

Instrument Technicians work at both onshore and offshore energy production facilities and onshore yards and workshops. You might work directly for an energy producer or a specialist contractor.

Whether you’re finding and fixing problems with equipment or performing important maintenance to stop problems arising in the first place, as an Instrument Technician, you’ll be helping to keep the energy industry in good working order.
