Accountant

As an Accountant In the energy industry, you could help manage the money moving into and out of all types of organisations, from multinational drilling corporations to local windfarm startups.

Accountants work in all sectors of the energy industry and are usually office based. You could be responsible for producing budgets and forecasts, monitoring how money is earned and invested in the organisation and coming up with ideas to increase the company’s profits. If you work in a big company, you might specialise in one area, such as auditing or paying suppliers and employees, whereas accountancy teams in smaller companies tend to carry out a broader range of tasks.

Whether you’re assessing the likely profitability of a potential new project or making sure that companies are operating in line with legal requirements, as an Accountant, you’ll be helping to provide a firm foundation for the energy industry as it powers the world around us.
